Good Morning! I’m drinking my pumpkin coffee and doing some early morning homework…but that typically leads to me diverting my attention to something else, such as blogging! Although this may seem like a boring topic, I’m here to spread the word of crock pot cooking! I’m also excited about upgrading my crock pot from a 3 quart to a 6 quart (see my babies pictured above)!
My crock pot cooking journey began about a year ago when I purchased my first lil’ guy (3 quart). How could I not have ever cooked with these things before?! Wow! The amount of food (and healthy food, at that) that you can make in a crock pot is fantastic. However, I wanted to make more at one time…….therefore I’ve moved onto a 6 quart.
Here are a few of my favorite things to make in the crock pot:
- Turkey Chili
- Marinated taco salad ground beef
- Pulled pork
- Pulled chicken
- Pot Roast & Potatoes/Carrots
- Pumpkin Coconut Chicken
However, I’m SUPER excited to make a new dish for the tailgate party I’ll be at tomorrow:
Buffalo Chicken Sliders
- 4 cups pulled chicken
- 1 cup celery chopped
- 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce
- 1/2 cup blue cheese dressing
- blue cheese crumbles
- 12 slider rolls
I will cook the chicken in the crock pot with buffalo wing seasoning and chicken broth, pull it and mix all the above together. Then take some rolls to make this into a slider once we arrive at the game! I can follow this blog up with a pic tomorrow when the recipe is complete.
I hope you all have some fun, relaxing weekend plans!
